Understand the Issue
To compromise effectively, you also need to take the time to understand the issue. If you have a team who are overburdened with responsibility then you may not be able to remove the burden entirely. It may be that you hire extra help and give your team a few more days off in the year though.

If you have a part-time employee who is unhappy with their working schedule then you may want to give them the chance to work from home. Things like this can be major, to say the least, so try and keep that in mind if you can.

You also have to learn the consequences of having a broken deal. What happens when you have a deal fall through? Or do you end up giving in by siding with your opposition?

If you can come up with alternatives then this will help you out a lot too. Up until this point, you may have thought about compromise as being linear but this is not always the case. You may be able to think of higher or even lower solutions.
Even if they do sound strange at first, you may find overall, it’s a good way for you to get the result you want. You may be able to include different terms or even different bonuses in a contract rather than simply resorting to raising or even lowering the price. If you can keep this in mind it will help a lot.
